I am afraid that if at all the agreements are made public, somehow Samy Vellu ends up becoming a hero because "he persuaded them to do so". And this whole thing about the clause to seek permission - of course that is a standard clause in any agreement - but isn't this a public project, whose interest is more important.
Let's not forget that the starting point itself was wrong - public projects must have consultation right from the beginning. There should be more accoutability seeking from both Samy Vellu and the private sector.
